Abbotsford Airshow – Aug. 9, 10 & 11, 2024
I’m super excited about the Abbotsford Airshow this year. I missed last year due to a family vacation. Yes, I go nearly every year and have since I was a young kid.
Not only am I excited because it’s been two years, but this year the F-22 Raptor is back. I saw this demonstration when it came a few years ago and it’s a fighter show unlike any other. I’m also happy there’s the condensed Friday evening show… this is what I’ve been attending ever since it was first offered. It’s cooler and shorter yet offers all the main events.
Once again the lineup is a great mix of jet fighters, skydivers, vintage aircraft, drone show (Fri only), helicopter demonstration and a glider flight.
Airshow schedule
Friday:
2:30 pm: Gates open
5 pm: Flying events begin.
9:30 pm: Drone show.
10:00 pm: Gates Close
Saturday & Sunday:
9:30 am to 5 pm

What else?
- Statis display: There’s the always fabulous static aircraft display where you can get close-up views of the aircraft on the tarmac. Some aircraft you can sit in the cockpit or tour the the fusilage.
- Food – in recent years they’ve brought in more and more food trucks. I’m hoping they bring more than in the past this year because the lines are long.
- Craft beer tent available.
- Kids zone with bouncy castles and other activities.
All in all this for me and my kids is the event of the weekend.
