IDS Vancouver Showcases the Best of Canadian and International Design (Sept. 26 – 29)

The Interior Design Show returns this week to Vancouver Convention Centre West with an Opening Night Party kicking things off on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 is set aside as a professional trade day while Sept. 28 and 29 are open to the public.

The IDS Conference on Sept. 27 is a full day of programming with eight accredited seminars, a show floor, experiential installations, and keynote presentations on the main stage. Register online for a Trade Day pass.

Special thematic sections at this year’s IDS Vancouver include four design teams exploring their visions of the “Future Neighbourhood:” “Don’t Forget Me,” from AD Projects and WAO Architecture explores the evolving relationship between humans and AI in design; “Greenville” by Petite Architect invites youth to participate in the design process, SVN’s “Micro-hood” looks at a day-in-the-life of a prototypical neighbourhood of the future; and Leckie Studio presents “Addapt” compartmentalized family home designs inspired by Japanese Bento Boxes.

Studio North” will showcase limited-edition collections from Canadian and international designers working with furniture, lighting, glass, ceramics, textiles, and surface design. “Prototype” will unveil conceptual products not yet available for the residential market.

Keynote Sessions have been organized into thematic categories including Azure Trade Day Friday (with moderator Stefan Novakovic, senior editor of AZURE magazine), House and Home Saturday (hosted by Emma Reddington, deputy editor and West Coast correspondent for House & Home magazine) and a Western Living Sunday (moderated by editorial director Anicka Quin and senior editor Stacey McLachlan of Western Living magazine).
