Lynn Valley, meet your City cousin. With provincial funding in place, a new pedestrian and cycling connector over the Upper Levels Highway will link the Cedar Village and Loutet neighbourhoods. A game-changer for community access, the Casano-Loutet Overpass joins two areas of North Van City that have been cut off since Highway 1 was built in the ’60s. Designed with a gradual, natural curving form that connects Loutet Park with the intersection of Casano Drive and Rufus Avenue, the overpass is expected to cost $11 million ($4 million from the province, $3.5 million from the City of North Vancouver, and $2.5 million from TransLink coffers).
