As the second round of the Vancouver Canucks-Edmonton Oilers semi-final series heats up, the City of Vancouver has designated Oak Meadows Park as a free Playoffs in the Park family-friendly viewing location. Leashed dogs are welcome; alcohol is not permitted. There are also many community centres around Metro Vancouver screening the games. Check various municipal social media channels for details. When the Canucks go into Round 3 (after dispatching the Oilers), the city plans to expand the viewing options even further with an outdoor licensed public viewing area for home and away games at the PNE, with capacity for 6,000 fans. The series is currently tied 2-2 with Game 5 at Rogers Arena on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Game 6 will be in Edmonton on Saturday, May 18 with Game 7, if needed, back in Vancouver on Monday, May 20. Games 6 and 7 start times have yet to be announced. Oak Meadows Park, at 37th and Willow, one block east of Oak, will be hosting Playoffs in the Park rain or shine.
