Dive Into the Rich Tapestry of the Indian Summer Festival (July 4 – 14)
The 14th annual Indian Summer Festival takes place July 4 – 14, with most events scheduled at Granville Island locations. The Opening Party: Paradox is set for the ‘Jharokha Garden’ at Performance Works on Thursday, July 4 at 7 p.m. Musical performances by Shruti Ramani with Raagaverse and DJ duo Lil India will be accompanied by a flavours of India tasting menu created by Chef Tushar Tondvalkar. The CBC’s Baneet Braich will host the event. Performance Works hosts a series of Tiffin Talk sessions on Sunday, July 7, that explore a number of topics, including deep dish memories (“A Taste of Nostalgia“), music as a social force (“Music as Resistance“), and the fine line between heirloom artisans and mainstream fashion (“The Line Between“). Modular synthesist Arushi Jain, preparing for her first North American headlining tour, plays Performance Works on July 11 with Sheherazaad and Piu.
