The Eastside Arts Society is gearing up for the 28th annual Eastside Culture Crawl, a four-day festival celebrating the grit, grind and grace of local visual arts, design, and craft. Studios, workshops, and galleries will open their doors to the curious, the collectors, and everyone in between from Nov. 14 to 17. Over 500 artists based in various locations will offer a cross-section of Eastside creativity during the community celebration.

The Crawl pulls tens of thousands of visitors through the Eastside Arts District’s open studios, a region that includes Columbia Street, 1st Avenue, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront. Known as Vancouver’s creative core, the EAD is dense with artists, designers, performers, and makers, where studios hum with everything from paintings to leatherwork to glass art. A stroll through the festival connects you with the lifeblood of one of Vancouver’s most concentrated creative hubs.

Running alongside the Crawl, the multi-venue exhibition “Green” explores the shades and tones of human experience tied to the word itself. The work of over 90 artists is on display at Pendulum Gallery, Alternative Creations Gallery, The Cultch, and the Charles Clark Gallery at Strange Fellows Brewing, running through Nov. 29.
