Sudan Archives and Malkit Singh Headline World-Class Surrey Fusion Fest Lineup
Almost every type of musical genre under the sun is represented in the world-class lineup put together for the Surrey Fusion Festival this weekend – the Electro R&B of Sudan Archives headlines the roster on Saturday, July 20, while Punjabi bhangra star Malkit Singh closes things down on Sunday, July 21. Other acts performing on multiple stages during the two-day fest include rising pop star Jade LeMac and psychedelic cumbia/salsa band Empanadas Ilegales. Attendees can learn more about the art and cuisine of many world cultures in Expo-like pavilions set up around the festival site at Holland Park, while the Cultural Cooking Arena hosts youth competitions on Saturday and demonstrations on Sunday. Free admission.
“Last Day on Earth” comes from Jade LeMac’s Confessions album, released earlier this year on Arista Records. The Vancouver singer/songwriter performs at the Surrey Fusion Festival on Saturday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m.
