Marley Brothers Launch North American Tour at Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park (Sept. 5)
Bob Marley and the Wailers’ visit to Vancouver 45 years ago to play the Pacific Coliseum is one of those legendary gigs of yore. Miami R&B star Betty Wright opened the concert with a blast of high-energy soul before Marley and co. came on and launched into “Positive Vibration,” “I Shot the Sheriff,” “Concrete Jungle” and other classics from his roots rebel Rastafari catalogue. A massive night that was repeated many times during Marley’s iconic career. Now, five of his sons, The Marley Brothers, are celebrating their father’s legacy with a North American tour, kicking off on Sept. 5 at Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park.
