North Van Museum Screening Chief Dan George Films as Part of Exhibition
A major exhibit on the life of Tsleil-Waututh Nation Chief Dan George is currently on view at MONOVA, the Museum & Archives of North Vancouver. “Agents of Change: Chief Dan George Legacy” is actually a MONOVA touring exhibit that has been traveling around BC for the past couple of years. Now home for an extended stay, MONOVA curator Andrea Terron says the show “connects the past to the present, telling the history of Chief Dan George and Indigenous rights while exploring his influence on activism.” George started his acting career at the age of 60 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 1970 film, “Little Big Man.” Included with the exhibition are free screenings of “Little Big Man” on May 23 at 6:30 p.m. and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” on May 30 at 6:30 p.m.
