VSO Performing Free, Open-Air Concert at Sunset Beach (July 6)

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra returns to the beach with Symphony at Sunset, a free open-air concert on Saturday, July 6, at 8 p.m. at Sunset Beach Park. This year, the program will include music from film soundtracks like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and E.T., plus a selection from the classical repertoire. Conducted by the VSO’s music director, Otto Tausk, the evening will begin with an orchestral arrangement of the Coast Salish Anthem, composed by Tsleil-Waututh Chief Dan George. Sunset Beach is located at the mouth of False Creek, on Beach Ave. between Bute St. and Thurlow St.
