The National Geographic Live Speaker Series presents award-winning photographer Kiliii Yüyan at the Vancouver Playhouse on Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Based in Seattle, Yüyan specializes in documenting polar regions, wilderness, and Indigenous communities. Of Chinese and Nanai/Hézhè (Asian Indigenous) ancestry, Yüyan spent many years building kayaks before picking up a camera. As a National Geographic Explorer, Kiliii Yüyan captures the stories of Indigenous land stewardship and biodiversity protection from various cultural perspectives. His talk at the Playhouse, Life on Thin Ice, shares stories of his adventures in the polar north.
