Fistful of Kicks Pay Homage to Classic Hong Kong Gangster Films
The Hong Kong gangster films of the 1980s, made by directors such as Andrew Lau, Johnnie To, and John Woo, have greatly influenced many filmmakers over the years, including Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs,” a remake of Ringo Lam’s incendiary heist flick “City on Fire.” Vancouver’s East Asian improv comedy troupe, Fistful of Kicks, presents its take on the legendary HK cinema genre with “Fistful of Crime” live on stage Friday, May 31, at Little Mountain Gallery, 110 Water St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $22 + fees.
