These are 10 of the Best Hotels in Whistler for Summer Stays
Whistler is an incredible year-round resort town. Before we bought a townhouse in Whistler, we vacationed there many, many times staying in many of Whistler’s and Blackcomb’s best hotels during Summer and Winter.
Finding the perfect hotel in this alpine paradise can enhance your experience, offering convenient access to both winter sports and summer activities while providing comfortable luxury after a day of exploration.
Summer vs Winter hotels in Whistler?
I split up my “best hotels in Whistler” lists for Summer and Winter because while there is some overlap, there are some hotels and resorts better-suited for Winter and some for Summer.
Below is my list of the best hotels in Whistler for Summer. I didn’t merely choose the most expensive. I chose a variety of what I consider the best hotels based on various objectives (budget-friendly, location, family, etc.).
10. Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa
Hitlon will always be a favorite because it was the first hotel I stayed at in Whistler.

5. Pangea Pod Hotel
I’ve not stayed at Pangea but am including it because it’s an excellent budget option in the heart of the main village.

The rooftop patio bar provides a fantastic social space to unwind after a day on the slopes. For skiers and snowboarders, the dedicated ski storage makes managing your equipment hassle-free during your stay.

4. First Tracks Lodge (Creekside)
I’ve stayed 3 times at First Tracks Lodge. It’s my absolute favorite hotel in all of Whitler but I’m putting it at number 4 because my hunch is most visitors to Whistler will prefer staying nearer or in the main Village. I’ve spent more than enough time in the main village so I appreciate the more quiet, smaller Creekside village.
First Tracks Lodge units are owned by individuals who rent it out via the property’s reservation management service. For the money, you get the most space without compromising style and room quality. For example, you can get 2 to 4 bedroom units (as well as one bedroom units). This makes it ideal for families.
Its best feature is that it’s steps to the Creekside gondola.
Creekside is a great place in Summer because you can access the bike park via the Creekside gondola and it’s a short 12 minute walk to Alpha Lake which has a public park and small beach.
The property itself includes outdoor pool, hot tub and grills. My one beef with the hotel is there isn’t a full time concierge in the lobby. The hotel operations are managed in the adjacent property Legends which is owned and operated by the same management company.
If Creekside appeals to you, I strongly recommend First Tracks Lodge.
3. Fairmont Chateau Whistler
I’ve stayed a few times at the Fairmont; it’s arguably Whistler’s finest resort given the size of the grounds and grandeur of the hotel. While it’s a fantastic property, I give higher ratings to Westin due to location in the main village and the Four Seasons because, well because it’s the Four Seasons, which is nothing short of spectacular.
That said, you will likely not be disappointed with the Fairmont. The rooms are beautiful. The restaurants excellent. The Mallard pub transports you back 150 years. The indoor-outdoor pool is one of the finest features.
Situated steps from the Blackcomb gondola, it’s easy to get whisked up the Blackcomb Mountain for hiking. The property includes a world-class golf course as well.
You should know that the Fairmont (and Four Seasons) are not located in the main Whistler village. While you can walk to the main village in ten minutes or so, these hotels are located in the Upper Village. If you’re looking for nightlife steps from your hotel, look for something in the main Whistler Village. If that’s not important, you can’t go wrong with the Fairmont.

2. The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler
I’ve stayed twice at the Westin and dined there on many occasions.
If you wan the main village experience, Westin has the best location. The property itself is no slouch either.
The Westin Resort & Spa offers an upscale all-suite experience in the heart of Whistler. You’ll find spacious accommodations that provide a comfortable retreat after a day on the slopes or hiking the mountain trails. Each suite comes with modern amenities designed to enhance your stay.
The resort boasts exceptional amenities including an indoor/outdoor pool where you can relax while taking in mountain views. The on-site spa provides a variety of treatments to soothe tired muscles after outdoor adventures. For families, the kids’ club offers supervised activities, making this an excellent choice for family vacations.
Dining options at The Westin showcase local ingredients and spectacular views. You’ll appreciate the convenience of on-site ski rentals, eliminating the hassle of transporting equipment. The prime location puts you within easy access to both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
The hotel’s dedication to service is evident in their attentive staff who work to ensure your mountain getaway exceeds expectations. Whether visiting in winter for world-class skiing or summer for hiking and mountain biking, The Westin provides a luxurious base for your Whistler adventure.

1. Four Seasons Resort Whistler
I’ve stayed in the Four Seasons twice and know it well.
Situated at the base of Whistler Blackcomb, Four Seasons Resort Whistler offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The elegant property provides stunning mountain views, a dedicated ski concierge, and a high-end spa recognized as Canada’s Best Resort Spa 2024 by World Spa Awards.
I give this top billing for summer because the lack of ski-in ski-out doesn’t matter. If the Four Seasons were next to a gondola, it would be my favorite year-round but in Winter, you must take a shuttle to the gondola which is not terribly convenient.
The resort features a variety of luxurious accommodations to suit your needs, from spacious Deluxe Rooms with fireplaces to impressive four-bedroom Resort Residences. Each room is designed with mountain-chic aesthetics, offering private balconies or terraces with panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.
Your culinary experience is elevated with Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, chef’s tasting menus, and towering seafood displays. Unwind with daily wine receptions, live music on sun-soaked patios, or refreshing drinks at the Champagne Pool Bar—perfect for après-ski or summer relaxation.
Beyond luxury accommodations, you can engage in curated activities including guided nature walks, artistic workshops, yoga classes, and complimentary e-bike explorations. The resort’s wellness offerings feature indigenous-inspired treatments in collaboration with Sḵwálwen Botanicals, honoring local traditions while providing deep relaxation.
